A while back I posted a similar photo taken from the same place at the same time, but I think I like this one better. The added rock surface in the foreground gives a different feel. Let me know what you think.

Whiteface Mountain from Big Cherrypatch Pond
It was a balmy November’s day by North Country standards. T-shirt weather for many a local. You could watch Whiteface lose its snow by the hour. In the evening, most was gone!
A perfect day to do some rambling. Not the easiest stroll to the end of Cherrypatch Pond, but well worth the view.

An October’s Eve on Mount Van Ho
It was cloudy and rainy on my hike up the mountain but I had some hope the sky might briefly open around sunset. A couple I met on their way down the trail just didn’t understand why I was going up to take photos in the rain, especially in the late evening. “This is when I get off work,” I said, “And I’m hoping for a window of open sky.” I could see the doubt in their faces.
